Whether by age, or excess, jingoistic national slogans to the contrary, every living thing finally finds itself on the sands edge of time in the sun. All republics obey this unchanging reality, but those based on theft of land, ownership, or profit gained by force, seem to vanish in the instant it takes to call a bluff. If you would believe history, remember that it is written by the victors of wars, and the reach of privilege. Maybe so. Maybe not. Maybe, there are signs, things that might have been acted on. Things that in retrospect, would have made a difference if applied in time.
The world wide establishment of capitalism is a suicide pact between village idiots applied on planetary scale. This is an economic philosophy which pits human against human in an arms race in which there can be no winners, no victors, and likely no survivors. It makes idiots out of scientists and mathematicians, sending them to convince us we can double food production by 2050. Right, so the system which has gotten us here, needs to be essentially doubled? Riiight.
Anyone watching a petri dish can see that when the “stuff” completely covers the growth medium, and runs out of room, things start to fall apart pretty dead. What happens when we start a nuclear war over raw materials? How will that affect our growth medium? Mammalian culture under stress does some pretty predictable things. Tell me if this sounds familiar.
There is increased fighting of course. On top of the general cranky you get when you are starving, there are leadership, and echelon fights all up and down command structures.
Infant mortality, failure to parent, failure to mother, failure to thrive indices rise. Real world predation increases. In human culture, high brain access to the spinal column means everything can have a compound effect, as activities get infused with impulses from all over. Consciousness can be commanded to infuse reality with primal nonsense from God knows where. Corporate carnivorousness is just the beginning of the special human touch. Not bad enough, we simply deny, something nature has never gotten around to.
While the idiot hamster politicians of the rich, have got us off chasing around the world for people to kill, and stuff to steal, lots of housework has been left undone. Never mind the failing infrastructure, we have a great anthem! The problem with propaganda, is it kinda means the truth doesn’t work out as well for you as lies.
No matter, reality calls. Domestic needs soon have the great armies packing their resources home to quell unrest, and fortify the homefires. Like a collapsing star, her brightest light is in her passing from the world stage. From world director/producer we swiftly fall, soon, very soon, we will be the audience, then finally the usher.
